Searching for Illustrations with Logos Bible Software

Finding great illustrations for teaching and preaching is never easy. But if a great fish can locate Jonah, then you can uncover an illustration in that sea of information called your Logos library.

Have you had the experience of discovering a word picture, but it does not quite fit? Do you feel like spewing that illustration on the shore of frustration?

However, all is not lost. One option is to modify the application for your audience. Just be careful how you change the illustration and be sure you and the example still have its integrity when the changes are complete : )

Personally, I have found that reading multiple anecdotes can help me think of an illustration appropriate to my preaching and teaching needs.

The following video will show you how to find illustrations related to your passage. The video is under 2-minutes and is from the LearnLogos7 Training System bundle(54+ hours, 1000 video topics, on sale today). Here is coupon: fivedollars.

By the way, in the video, we show several collections that we had previously created and are available in the LearnLogos 7 training bundle.

For your convenience, here is the first collection:

Collection Name: L7-09-Illustrations (Step 9)

Collection Rule: subject:illustration OR subject:hymn OR subject:quot* OR subject:anecdote OR type:devotional OR subject:”homiletical illustrations” OR subject:sermons OR title:”christian history magazine” -type:systematic -type:harmony -type:notes -type:commentary

Before you set sail and begin this search, be sure to add this collection to Logos. Go to Tools > Collections > click the ‘New’ button > copy the Collection Name into the first white box, then copy the Collection Rule into the second white box, and click the ‘New’ button again.

Enjoy!
